The China Grove Roller Mill
Established circa 1895
The oldest business in China Grove, the China Grove Roller Mill was
an early commercial center and served as a grist mill for the area's
farmers. While the business was started in 1883, the company was
incorporated in 1895 and the present building you see was erected in
1903. The Historical Society of South Rowan, Inc., has been the
proud sponsor of tours of the mill and opened the renovated China
Grove Roller Mill Museum in November, 2005. The China Grove Roller
Mill ceased operation in 1995 and is now on the National Register of
Historic Places.
